How often should you hold a crisis meeting?

Meeting too frequently? The crisis team will remain in discussion, and too little action will be taken. Meeting too infrequently? You will miss crucial updates and lose control.

The initial meeting must take place as soon as possible to assess the crisis and initiate the first actions.

In the initial phase, meetings should be more frequent, for example, hourly. Keep meetings to a maximum of 20 minutes and focus on updates, decision-making, and actions. Avoid endless discussions.

Later in the crisis, once the situation is more under control, the meeting frequency can be reduced. For instance, to twice or once a day. As the immediate pressure subsides, crisis meetings may also be extended.
