Now that Merlin has had a new corporate identity since May of this year, we felt it was time to take a closer look at the color scheme in CrisisSuite. CrisisSuite’s new look and feel is in line with Merlin’s corporate identity. We’ve chosen modern, fresh colors that reflect our company’s identity.
CrisisSuite continues to work just as you’re used to. The menus and screen layouts remain unchanged. However, we’ve updated the look and feel of the web application and the app. Below, you can see what’s changing and read why we made these changes.

When a crisis strikes, the crisis response team needs to be able to focus on the crisis itself without being distracted by the software. That’s why we’ve used complementary colors in the interface. This makes the overall look much calmer, which improves clarity.
We have also paid attention to the contrast between colors. This is very important for the readability of an application. The menus and most buttons now have a higher contrast ratio. In the old style, the contrast ratio met the minimum requirement of the WCAG accessibility guidelines (4.5:1). But in the new style, it is nearly four times as high (16.34:1). A significant improvement!
